Dyshja Giovanni Masi – Lucio Matarazzo, e krijuar shumë kohë më parë lidhje spontane e bazuar në vlerësim, por edhe në ndjeshmërinë dhe bashkëpunimin e krijuar mes një mësuesi dhe një nga studentët e tij më të mirë gjatë studimeve të këtij të fundit në Konservatorin Avellino. Që në fillim, ajo ngjalli një entuziazëm të madh te Leo Brouwer, i cili donte t’i kushtonte Sonata e mrekullueshme Elegjiake. Disa kompozitorë të tjerë kanë shkruar tashmë për dyshen, si S.Assad, D.Bogdanoviç, S.Goss, G.Susani, G.Del Vescovo, V.Saldarelli, F.Cavallone, T.Theodoroudis e të tjerë. Dyshja tashmë kanë performuar në disa festivale ndërkombëtare si Aalborg dhe Iserlohn. Ai tashmë është duke realizuar disa projekte regjistrimi dhe editoriale mbi muzikën e Amerikës së Jugut dhe atë barok.

Lucio Matarazzo, një mësues dhe artist i njohur ndërkombëtarisht, studioi me Eduardo Caliendo dhe më pas me Angelo Gilardinon. Në më shumë se 45 vjet karrierë ai ka luajtur në të gjithë botën i pari në formacion duo me M.Fragnito (botimet përkatëse si suita Tango nga A.Piazzolla dhe 4 vëllimet e “Les Guitares bien tempereres” nga M.Castelnuovo-Tedesco, regjistrime të shumë LP-ve dhe CD-ve), dhe më pas, pas një kllapa e shkurtër solo (CD-të e tij kushtuar 36 Capricci-ve nga L.Legnani dhe studimeve të M.Giuliani janë janë bërë referenca absolute në nivel global), me Kuartetin GuitArt që themeloi, me të cilin ai performoi premierën botërore të 4 koncerteve kushtuar GQ nga L.Brouwer (C.Italico dhe Gismontiana), A.Gilardino (C.Italiano) dhe G.Drozd (C.Rapsodico) dhe në kohët e fundit me VirtuosoDuo me i mrekullueshëm Aniello Desiderio me të cilin ka publikuar edhe një CD kushtuar A.Gilardino me premierën e Koncertit Sepeithos për dy kitara dhe orkestër dhe vepra të tjera prej tyre të përkushtuar. Ai gjithashtu themeloi dhe drejton revistën online DotGuitar.it dhe kompaninë diskografike DotGuitar/CD me një katalog me mbi 220 CD kushtuar kitarës. Ai kuron serinë “Studime dhe pjesë edukative nga mjeshtrit e kaluar të kitarës” për UT Orpheus dhe, së bashku tek Giovanni Masi, seriali i ri “Muzikë për 2 kitara”. Në vitin 2017 ai mori çmimin prestigjioz “A Life for the Guitar” në Konventën Ndërkombëtare të Kitarës, të Aleksandrisë.

Giovanni Masi, i lindur në vitin 2002, konsiderohet si një nga kitaristët më interesantë të brezit të tij, siç dëshmohet nga çmime të shumta, duke përfshirë kitarën e artë si një premtim i ri në datën 29 Konventa Ndërkombëtare e Kitarës në Milano në 2024. Ai ka marrë diplomën akademike të I-së me notat më të larta, 110/110,  si dhe niveli II në Konservatorin “D. Cimarosa”, nën drejtimin e Maestro Lucio
Matarazzo. Në vitet në vijim, ai mori titullin Master me nota të larta nga i njëjti institut Pasuniversitar në kitarë dhe kursi akademik dyvjeçar i nivelit të dytë në muzikën e dhomës. Pavarësisht moshës së tij të re, Giovanni Masi krenohet me mbi 30 çmime në garat kombëtare dhe ndërkombëtare garat ndërkombëtare, duke përfshirë: konkursin e kitarës në Madrid, konkursin e kitarës në Transilvania,
kitaristi Paolo Ambroso. Sot ai ushtron një aktivitet intensiv koncertor, i cili e ka shtyrë të performojë në koncerte të shumta në festivale dhe sezone prestigjioze muzikore në Itali, Spanjë, Gjermani, Danimarka, Sllovenia dhe Bullgaria. Ai ka nën rripin e tij 4 albume, të publikuara nga labeli DotGuitar Srl në serinë “Giovanni Masi Collection”, i pritur me entuziazëm nga revista autoritare ndërkombëtare si p.sh. SoundBoard Magazine, Intimate Guitar dhe Suonare News. Që nga viti 2023, Giovanni Masi është dhënë një doktoraturë në Universitetin e Salerno-s, në bashkëpunim me Konservatorin “D. Cimarosa” të Avellino-s, me një projekt kërkimor mbi figurën e
Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco dhe Angelo Gilardino. Ka dhënë mësim në kurset paraakademike të Konservatori “Stanislao Giacomoantonio” i Kozencës dhe aktualisht është mësues me detyrë në SMIM. Ai ka qenë një artist i sponsorizuar për kompaninë amerikane D’Addario që nga viti 2022 dhe luan një kitarë kedri të vitit 2024, bërë nga luthieri kanadez Michel Belair.

 

The duo Giovanni Masi – Lucio Matarazzo, formed very recently, was born as a spontaneous consequence of a bond based on esteem, but also on empathy and complicity generated between a master and one of his best students during the latter’s studies at the Avellino Conservatory. From the very beginning, it aroused the great enthusiasm of Leo Brouwer, who wanted to dedicate the splendid Sonata Elegíaca to them. Several other composers have already written for the duo, such as S.Assad, D.Bogdanovic, S.Goss, G.Susani, G.Del Vescovo, V.Saldarelli, F.Cavallone, T.Theodoroudis and others. The duo has already performed at several international festivals such as Aalborg and Iserlohn. They are already producing some recording and editorial projects on South American and Baroque music,
soon to be released.

Lucio Matarazzo, an internationally renowned teacher and concert artist, studied with Eduardo Caliendo and then with Angelo Gilardino. In more than 45 years of career he has played all over the world first in a duo with M. Fragnito (important publications such as the Tango suite by A. Piazzolla and the 4 volumes of “Les Guitares bien tempereres” by M. Castelnuovo-Tedesco, recordings of many LPs and CDs), and then, after a brief solo parenthesis (his CDs dedicated to the 36 Capricci by L. Legnani and the studies by M. Giuliani have become absolute references at a global level), with the GuitArt Quartet he founded, with which he performed the world premiere of 4 concerts dedicated to the GQ by L. Brouwer (C. Italico and Gismontiana), A. Gilardino (C. Italiano) and G. Drozd (C. Rapsodico) and more recently with the VirtuosoDuo with the amazing Aniello Desiderio with whom he has also published for Brilliant Classics a CD dedicated to
A.Gilardino with the premiere of the Concerto del Sepeithos for two guitars and orchestra and other works dedicated to them. He also founded and directs the online magazine DotGuitar.it and the record label DotGuitar/CD with a catalog of over 220 CDs dedicated to the guitar. He edits the series “Studies and Educational Pieces from Past Guitar Masters” for UT Orpheus and, together
with Giovanni Masi, the new series “Music for 2 guitars”. In 2017 he received the prestigious award “Una vita per la chitarra” at the International Guitar Conference in Alessandria.

Giovanni Masi, born in 2002, is considered one of the most interesting guitarists of his generation, as attested by numerous awards, including the Golden Guitar as a Young Promise at the 29th International Guitar Conference in Milan in 2024. He obtained with top marks, 110/110, honors and mention, both the first level and second level academic diplomas at the “D. Cimarosa” Conservatory, under the guidance of Maestro Lucio Matarazzo. In the following years, he obtained with top marks at the same institute the Postgraduate Master in Guitar and the two-year second level academic course in Chamber Music. Despite his young age, Giovanni Masi boasts over 30 awards in national and international competitions, including: Madrid Guitar Competition, Transilvania Guitar Competition, Paolo
Ambroso Guitar Competition. To date, he carries out an intense concert activity that has led him to perform in numerous concerts in prestigious festivals and musical seasons in Italy, Spain, Germany, Denmark, Slovenia and Bulgaria. He has 4 albums under his belt, published by the DotGuitar Srl label in the “Giovanni Masi Collection” series, enthusiastically welcomed by authoritative international magazines such as SoundBoard Magazine, Intimate Guitar and Suonare News. Since 2023, Giovanni Masi has won a Doctorate at the University of Salerno, in collaboration with the “D. Cimarosa” Conservatory of Avellino, with a research project on the figures of
Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco and Angelo Gilardino. He has taught in the pre-Academic courses of the “Stanislao Giacomoantonio” Conservatory of Cosenza and is currently a tenured professor at the SMIM. He has been a sponsored artist for the American company D’Addario since 2022 and plays a 2024 cedar guitar, made by Canadian luthier Michel Belair.
